Each year the AICP rewards three $1,500 scholarships for tuition and fees to an accredited educational institution. One of these is the Rick Guggolz Memorial Scholarship. The other two are our AICP Insurance Career Advancement Scholarships.
This year our Scholarship Committee reviewed 26 applications and made their selections based on: grade point average; involvement in additional academic achievements, extracurricular activities and leadership roles; and level of educational interest and dedication to the insurance industry.
We are proud to announce this year’s recipients!
- Julia Berdzik is rewarded the Rick Guggolz scholarship. Julia is a student at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. Majoring in Insurance and Risk Management, she plans to graduate in December of this year. In addition, to her school course work, she has completed courses for the CPCU as well as several other professional designations. She also serves as a mentor to underclassmen who are RMI majors. And, she is currently a student member of AICP.
- Anne Bowen is the recipient of one of the Insurance Career Advancement Scholarships and this is her second consecutive to receive this honor. Anne is a business major in Insurance, Finance, and Risk Management at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. with plans to graduate in May of 2022. She has participated in internship programs with several national carriers and is currently a governor-appointed voting member of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Anne is also a student member of both AICP and RIMS.
- Christopher McKeon is the other recipient of an Insurance Career Advancement Scholarships. Christopher is a graduate student at Columbia University in New York, New York. Majoring in Insurance, he plans to graduate in May of 2022. He holds both an ARe and a CPCU designation and, prior to his current educational pursuits, Christopher earned an MBA at Fordham University. Moreover, he currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Commercial Casualty and Risk Management with Everest RE Group, LTD.
