The issue of gender-affirming care has entered the spotlight in recent months. For insurers, this can create pitfalls. Some states have penalized insurers that have treated aspects of gender-affirming care as cosmetic procedures and denied coverage claims. What risks might you face in denying coverage or when providing coverage to individuals who are transitioning? Our program will level-set the legislative and regulatory landscape, look at the insurance industry responses and explore the trends that are developing in this area.
