Compliance Careers – So Many Options!

Compliance within an insurance company can be thought of as a large umbrella encompassing many functions and interactions with areas within a company. In this podcast, we will explore many of the compliance functions including monitoring state laws, responding to state and federal mandates, handling consumer complaints, and submitting rate filings to state insurance department.

Margaret Resce Milkint is a talent strategist and a diversity and inclusion catalyst. As Managing Partner of The Jacobson Group and a member of the firm’s Executive Management Team, Margaret is a key ambassador in establishing strategic client relationships and broadening the firm’s breadth of insurance talent solutions.

Margaret’s executive search career spans domestic and global C-suite, executive management and Board of Director roles with depth in the property and casualty, life, health, and reinsurance sectors. She has successfully conducted searches in disciplines such as actuarial, analytics, underwriting, claims, operations, risk, finance, legal, technology, sales and marketing.

Margaret’s expertise on career and recruiting issues is widely recognized; and as such, she is an active industry speaker, storyteller and thought leader. She is also a champion for diversity, inclusion and intersectionality in the insurance industry. She co-founded the Women’s Insurance Networking Group, a platform for networking and career development among female and enlightened male insurance professionals. Margaret is U.S. Chair of ISC Group, a global business community for women operating in or involved with insurance. She is also Chair of the Million Women Mentors/STEMconnector Women in Insurance Initiative and is the recipient of their Champion of Industry Award.

Sean Cox has been with First Consulting since 1995 and during that time has progressed through many different roles within the firm, including performing filing services, managing these filing teams, drafting, advertising compliance, licensing and marketing.  Experience includes group and individual life, annuity and health filings, personal and commercial property and casualty filings, and general compliance matters.  Sean has held numerous regional and national officer positions within the AICP, received the AICP President’s Award, and is a frequent speaker for multiple organizations.

Bri Dahl is a native Washingtonian with strong family roots in the region. She graduated from the same high school as her dad and grandpa. Her kids even go to the same schools now! Her insurance career began in 1999 with Mutual of Enumclaw. She spent 13 of her 21 years with the company in a compliance related role. Bri is currently part of the compliance team with the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). Her involvement with AICP began in 2007. Bri has served the Northwest Chapter as secretary, vice president, president, past president and regional director. She has served the national organization in several committee roles and as a long serving member of the Board of Directors. Bri is also the President and Director of Rainier Volleyball Club, a non-profit youth sports program in her area. In her spare time, Bri enjoys travel with her family and friends, hiking and any extra time she can get with her kids.
