Many people ask, “What does the Membership Committee do?” Our priority starts as soon as renewal notices go out. The Committee works closely with the Management company to follow up with those members that have not renewed. The follow up generates responses that the renewal has slipped someone’s mind or the timing of payment has to do with a person’s company budget.
If someone is not renewing their membership, then we explore why that is, which helps us with future renewal campaigns and ensure that AICP is providing amazing value for their members. These activities keep the Membership Committee busy and involved
with our members from the notice of renewal through a few months after the renewal deadline has passed.
An exciting new initiative for 2025 is that the Membership Committee hosts Mentorship Monday on the 3 rd Monday of the month via LinkedIn. Some of the topics have been Resumes – What Hiring Managers are Looking For; Career Exploration – Opportunities with Third Party Service Providers; and Realistic Goal Setting. Be on the lookout in Compliance Connections and register for upcoming topics: Tips & Tricks for Interview Success; What to Expect at AICP Annual Conference; and a Resume Workshop.
The Membership Committee is always looking for volunteers! If you would like to know more about the Membership Committee and are interested in volunteering, please contact Nancy Campbell, [email protected].
