The Great Lakes chapter conference planning committee is busy planning two in-person events for 2022. “It’s time to get back in person with our chapter members after a 2 year hiatus and we’re excited with our initial plans. Committee chair Michael Hollar is leading the committee and they are developing two awesome events” says regional director Michael Hartman. Michael adds “We are still watching the pandemic issues. We are being sensitive to our members concerns as well as keeping in mind travel restrictions companies may still have in place; therefore, we decided to hold two separate events for those that may not be able or want to travel to the other state.”
We are planning a June networking event in the greater Chicago area with AICP General Counsel Dan Cotter, as our guest speaker. Our second event is planned for October and we’re working on holding this event at UW-Oshkosh. The tentative plan is to use this event as our chapter meeting and networking event. As UW-Oshkosh has a Risk Management program led by Dr. Kate Manthey, a former AICP Great Lakes Chapter member, we’d like to bring our Student Outreach Committee and the university together for collaboration efforts and have the university get involved with AICP.
And don’t forget, there is the virtual All Chapter Educational Day planned for Wednesday, May 4th and Thursday, May 5th and the premier event Annual Conference set for September 18th to the 21st at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida.
Watch the AICP website for further details for these events. We welcome everyone to attend!
