Greetings from your AICP President! I hope all of you are getting an opportunity to enjoy some family time this summer. I have just returned from a trip to the Dominican Republic, have an upcoming trip to Canton, Ohio for NFL Hall of Fame Week, and my niece is getting married in September in Priest Lake, Idaho. With AICP activities and family time, my summer is full!
I am sure that many of you wonder what the AICP Executive Committee and Board of Directors works on throughout the year on behalf of our membership. I am excited to share that we are reviewing and researching ways to better utilize our board meetings to include visits with local Departments of Insurance and membership. Our upcoming Q3 Board Meeting is on 7/15/2023. I am happy to announce that we will be visiting the Maryland Insurance Administration on Friday, 7/14/2023. Membership is invited to attend. Space is limited and registration is on the website. Future meetings will be scheduled in cities where DOI staff are located, so watch the website for upcoming opportunities.
The Board of Directors is also looking at ways that we can better serve our members and offer more opportunities for in-person events, educational opportunities, and networking. Our Learning & Development Committee has worked very hard and will be offering Compliance 101, 201 and 202 at the 2023 Annual Conference. We would also like to offer these educational courses and more in other areas throughout the country, and more times throughout the year, so we can meet the needs of more members.
Speaking of the 2023 Annual Conference, I am very excited to see all of you in Austin! We are going to have a robust schedule of sessions, an engaging and exciting keynote speaker, and fun activities on Monday night and Tuesday night. If you have never been to Austin, there is something for everyone from the live music to the food to the rich Texas history – all things that made Austin one of my favorite cities.
Wishing you all the best!
Nancy
