The AICP’s committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion would like to congratulate Ketanji Brown Jackson on her historic appointment to the United States Supreme Court.

Once sworn in, Justice Jackson will expand the court’s diversity by serving as its first African American female justice.  51-year-old Jackson joins the court with a wealth of judicial experience, including her time on the Federal Court of Appeals in addition to the US District Court.  She will be the sixth woman on the Supreme Court, and the third African American.  Since its establishment in 1789, the court has been comprised of 115 justices, 108 of which have been white men.

The DEI Committee wishes Justice Jackson continued success in her already impressive career.
