Product Manager I – Personal Lines


Description

1. Summary:
This position is responsible for working with the Product Compliance Team to develop and manage products that support corporate growth and profitability initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing materials, analyzing data, providing recommendations and supporting implementation of product initiatives.

2. Functions:
a. Stay current with the market to understand key trends impacting markets, customers, products, services, and operational processes.
b. Maintain awareness of regulatory and compliance issues related to products.
c. Based on analysis of trends and market needs, recommend product solutions to support corporate growth initiatives and profitability.
d. Review product changes from rating bureaus, as needed and make recommendations for implementation.
e. Assist in monitoring the success of product initiatives.
f. Assist in the development of materials for filings.
g. Work with the implementation team to support product initiatives.
h. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Product Compliance.

3. Qualifications:
a. Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred
b. One to three years of experience in insurance product management.
c. Technical knowledge of coverages, rates, rules, and forms required.
d. Working knowledge of ISO/AAIS circulars and bulletins preferred.
e. Ability to analyze and articulate complex coverage matters and rating processes required.
f. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment required.
g. Creative problem-solving abilities required.
h. Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) required.
i. Proficiency in office suite (MS Office Pro: Word, Excel), database management, email, and scheduling; ability to learn company computer systems required.
j. Ability to work flexible hours, travel to all organization offices (including in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota).
k. Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise level, remain in a stationary position and operate a computer a majority of the time required.
l. Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials and to move work materials weighing up to ten pounds daily required.
m. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation required.
