Lead Manager, Life Policy Forms Drafter and Regulatory Compliance

Equitable is looking for a Lead Manager, Life Policy Forms Drafter and Regulatory Compliance to join our team. As Lead manager you will draft EQUITABLE’s individual life insurance policy, rider, and endorsement forms for variable life, indexed variable life, universal life, indexed universal life, whole life and term life. Drafting will be in accordance with Product Management’s specifications, current state insurance laws, and current Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (IIPRC) form standards. Work with internal parties, such as Product Management, Legal Division, and Actuarial to obtain final sign-off of such drafts.
Resume Information
• Owns the drafts and designs of all individual life insurance products
• Coordinates meetings for the vetting process of the drafts that will include internal parties for form review and final signoff, such as Product Management, Legal
Division, Underwriting, and IT
• Facilitates Collaboration with all internal parties involved in the development of forms including stake holders, SMEs and management as necessary
• Coordinates workflow with Actuarial to ensure filing deliverables, such as required actuarial basis memoranda, within specified timelines
• Manages, as well as assists team members with, the preparation of product filings (e.g., determining state filing fees, completing the required IIPRC “Mix and
Match” information, calculating Flesch readability scores) and ensures completion of the approval process of such filings within specified timeline
• Expeditiously resolves any filing objections from state insurance regulators or the IIPRC within specified deadlines to secure maximum number of approvals
before product launch
• Periodically conducts research or compiles filing-related documentation for internal parties, such as the Legal Division, Product Management, or Actuarial
• Acts as a “go-to” person for life insurance forms compliance questions from internal parties
Qualifications
7+ years of life insurance application drafting for life insurance products
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of the individual life insurance products and applications
Knowledge of state insurance laws, regulations, and state insurance departments’ or the IIPRC’s application requirements
Highly skilled communicator both verbal and written
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
