Since joining the AICP organization in 2016, it has allowed me to connect and network with numerous compliance professionals, as well as a few state regulators, many of whom I’d now consider friends.
AICP not only offers the ability to network, but also offers valuable resources and educational opportunities. Members are welcome to join their own or other chapter events, such as E-Days, webinars, podcasts, and in-person classes.
In my opinion the most important event is AICP’s annual conference. The conference not only offers incredible educational opportunities, but keynote speakers, panel discussions and of course networking.
Another invaluable resource that membership offers is the AICP job bank. Compliance is a rapidly changing industry and has many roles, so if you are looking for a new opportunity in compliance, take a look at the current job openings.
When I first joined AICP I was fortunate enough to join as the secretary of the northwest chapter. A few years later, I was elected as the northwest chapter regional director. These roles allowed me insight into the organization and grew both my personal and professional skills.
My advice is to take full advantage of your membership. There are so many great benefits that will help you both personally and professionally.
