Get Involved Through Committees...

There are thirteen Committees and Task Forces at the National level. They are:

  • Website
  • The men and women serving on these committees are the heart of the Association. Their efforts provide the basis for AICP’s success in educating and retaining members.

    Responsibilities for each of Committee can be categorized as follows:
    • Bylaws – Review and recommend changes to the Bylaws.

    • Chapter Relations – Liaison among the Chapters to provide a formal way to give and receive feedback to and from the Board and among the chapters.

    • Community Marketing – Identify opportunities to promote awareness about our Association. Work with other professional organizations in the insurance industry to enhance relationships.

    • Conference Planning – Coordinate the planning and implementation of the Annual Conference.

    • Education – Develop and manage the curriculum, and establishes standards for the AICP Certification programs.

    • Finance – Assists the Board in reviewing the overall financial status of the Association. Develops and recommends fiscal year budget to the Board. Monitors finances on a regular basis and makes recommendations to the Board with regard to investments and reserves.

    • Government and Industry Relations – Committed to increasing regulator awareness of and involvement in, AICP. Establishing and enhancing relationships with the regulatory community and industry groups. The committee does its work through several subcommittees.

    • Marketing Steering – Responsible for focusing the marketing efforts of AICP. Comprised of representatives of the other committees.

    • Membership – Solicit and provide information to prospective Association members.

    • Nominating – Responsible for the National election process, including interviewing candidates, recommending a slate of candidates for open National positions, monitoring the election and reporting the results to the board.

    • Past President's Council – This committee is chaired by the national immediate Past President and is made up of several Past President's. The council's purpose is to serve as a resource for the sitting President, Executive Committee, and/or Board of Directors should the need arise. The Past President's Council does not have any specific annual responsibilities.

    • Public Relations – Explore external communication channels in which to market the value and increase the recognition of AICP within the industry.

    • Publications – Produce the quarterly newsletter.

    • Website – Manage website content and updates when needed.
