Conference Overview
Atlanta proved to be the "Gateway to our Success" for our 21st Annual Conference, "Compliance at the Crossroads". There were over 780 registrants which included more than 70 regulators representing 25 states and over 170 first time attendees!Starting Sunday afternoon, there were over 70 sessions conducted throughout the four day period geared to all levels of compliance professionals from beginner to advanced. Sunday evening activities included an Exhibitors' Showcase and Welcome Reception.
Our Keynote speaker for the Monday breakfast was Scott Friedman, CSP. Through his humor and story telling, Scott provided attendees with insightful techniques and tools for "Connecting with Customers".
For part of our Monday morning program, we welcomed back the return of the very popular Commissioners' Corner. A panel of Commissioners held back-to-back sessions for both P&C and L&H to address the pertinent issues in the marketplace.
At the Tuesday breakfast, we welcomed keynote speaker, Commissioner John Oxendine. The Commissioner outlined the key regulatory initiatives for the State of Georgia, and shared his views on the current political environment in an election year.
Our annual business meeting was held at the Tuesday lunch, and the new national officers and board members were sworn in by our general counsel.
Tuesday evening was a time to be with friends. Many chapters organized events including an evening at the Atlanta Aquarium and dinner at Agatha's Mystery Theatre.
The AICP presented a donation check which included proceeds from the Silent Auction to Mr. Conway from the Atlanta Children's Shelter at the Wednesday breakfast.
Sessions concluded Wednesday afternoon with a lively Game Show where a panel of industry and regulator experts tried to out wit each other.
